These medical saddlebags, part of the HSC Libraries artifact collection, were made for rural doctors to make their rounds on horse back and were copyrighted in the 1890s. This particular set was probably purchased before 1909 and was used by a physician in North Carolina. He eventually moved to Florida to practice.
