Philip Scherer

Dr. Philip Scherer received his bachelor’s degree from Brigham Young University, during which time he served a two-year church mission in Berlin, Germany. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed his transitional year training at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. He was nominated for the Annual Charles Harold Alper Humanitarian Award from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. Dr. Scherer has provided oral presentations for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga Third Annual History of Medicine Lecture Series and the Southern Association for the History of Medicine and Science Annual Meeting. Dr. Scherer has demonstrated a strong interest in the history of medicine and the incorporation of the musical arts in medical education and patient care. He is married to his wife Natalie and they have two children, Max and Lorelei.
